My appointment is in 2 days with my doc (of course board certified), but im just up late of course googling and because I'm American, I need instant answers and find it hard to wait 2 days to ask my own doc (who is awesome btw). Here's my details: post op day 5 breast lift (peri+vertical lollipop-j scar) Fat transfer (from love handels) 470cc bilateral silicone implants HP Mega capsule repair from previous augment in 2011, doc says it was "a mess in there" so a lot of capsule repair and pocket revision

Most patients will experience some discomfort, swelling, and mild bruising around the donor sites and breast areas for 1 - 3 days after the procedure. You were wise in scheduling a follow-up with your board certified PS to allay your concerns.

Thank you for your question.  Bruising in an area of liposuction is common in the early post operative period.  From your photo's the bruise appears to be consistent with early venous bleeding that often occurs following liposuction and stops shortly thereafter.  The varying shades of maroon, purple and orange of the bruise visible in your photo's from post-op day 5 means that your body has already started to break it down and resorb it.  If you are concerned with the bruise, I would call your Plastic Surgeon to discuss it.  If you are feeling  weak, tired, feverish, short of breath or having chest pains, I would contact your surgeon immediately.  Hope this helps.
