5 months post lip flip. Can Botox be causing my sickness?

Hello, I am sorry to hear about your distressing symptoms. I personally have not heard of those symptoms being reported after Botox injection. At the low doses used for cosmetic indication, Botox should only have a local effect on the facial muscles and should wear off in 3-4 months. I encourage a thorough history and physical by a primary care physician to rule out any other medical conditions that may be contributing to what you are experiencing.

It is very unlikely that the symptoms that you are experiencing are related to your Botox lip flip treatment. There is very little product used for a lip flip and Botox wears off typically after 3 or 4 months. I encourage you to speak with your primary care physician about what may be occurring.

Botox lasts for 2-3 months and its effect diminishes, getting all your symptoms after 5months and after a lip flip, which only uses average of 8 units Botox, is highly unlikely a result of the injection. Please consult with your physician to get give you proper diagnosis. It is recommended to get your treatment from a board certified specialist.

While a standard Lip Flip Botox treatment uses very small total units of Botox, no one knows for sure if it may cause any of the symptoms you have described. It is true that higher volumes of Botox have been associated with headaches, flu like symptoms, fatigue etc.
It has also been shown (especially in the past 2.5 years with Covid) that viruses may cause long term multifocal/multi-symptom issues.
While I seriously doubt that the Botox causes your prolonged issues, I can not say 100% that it had no effect.
