Many people will develop a runny nose after rhinoplasty, however, There should not be a worsening of nasal congestion. Based on your CAT scan and MRI, you may have enlarged turbinates. Turbinates the structures that filter in humidify the air, and if they are too large they could be causing a nasal obstruction. Your turbinates are huge. They can be reduced surgically or nonsurgically which will take care of the breathing problem. If you continue to have a runny nose after turbinate reduction there is a spray called atrovent which will help

It seems fairly unlikely that removing the packing whether done gently or abruptly is causing your problems.
