How to treat hard scar tissue lump on lip? (Photo)

Question

I was in an accident a month ago where my lip was cut open. A plastic surgeon sewed my lip back together and took the sutures out 2 weeks ago. My lip looks relatively back to normal but there is a large pea sized hard scar tissue lump on my upper lip that reduces some functionality and affects my smile appearance. Is there anything I can do to reduce this scar tissue or is is there any procedure that will help get rid of/ reduce the size? I am nervous this will be here forever.

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

Consider using dermal filler to just augment the entire lip to make this less visible. Also use some scar reducing creams like mederma or silicone based

Thank you for your question.
since it has been only been one month since your injury I would recommend you to wait at least another 6 months. The scar tissue softens or mature with time. you also apply silicone scar gel to the area which might help push back the scar tissue.
