4 years post facial fat grafting. Considering micro liposuction to correct

Question

I had facial fat grafting 4 years ago. There is a slight almond shape under one eye and a little too much fullness either side of my mouth. Anyone would say it is minimal but I notice it a lot. I did a few injections for the under the eye area and it improved the area a little. Considering micro liposuction. Is there a risk of overcorrection? Can it be done in office without a general. Is there any downtime? Any recommendations of doctors who do a lot of this micro liposuction

its very hard to reverse facial fat grafting, sometimes this requires liposuction, face lift with fat removal or repositioning. I find that small changes can be treated with ultrasound, radiofreuqnecy or kybella/mesotherapy/lipodissolve, or 5fu steroids.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thanks for posting your question. Micro liposuction is generally a very good way to correct fat transfer, if there is too much fat in an area. Often this can be done in the office, under local anesthesia. Downtime would be a few days of swelling and maybe a bit of bruising, and the amount of downtime depends on how much is done and how large the area is.

microlipo has some uses in the face, I find that it works better in the lower face than under the eye, where the fat is more fibrous and the cannula is not so effective.
