Blister on nipple incision after breast lift, 6 weeks post op (Photo)

Question

I've had 3 blisters so far. I've only including 2 in the photo. The second one is the most recent blister that appeared today. I've noticed that with the other ones, once it's pops, liquid comes out (its odorless), and a tiny hole forms. Why does this happen? And how do I prevent this from happening again? How do I go about this with my new blisters? I still wear my post op bra, and don't sleep on my belly

Dear porcelainia,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination but this type of wounds can be caused by spitting sutures. I would suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD

Thank you for the photos and the background
information regarding this post-operative issue. It is difficult to tell for
sure without examining you myself, I do believe you are “spitting” your sutures
around the breast. Your body may be walling off the sutures one by one and
pushing them to your skin’s surface. I would go to your plastic surgeon who
performed this procedure to be evaluated. He/she may remove any suture material
if present.
