Incomplete eyelid closure - Could I get some lift with a lateral brow lift rather than bleph? (photo)

I am 54, have very droopy lateral brow/lids. I really want an upper bleph, but I have incomplete eyelid closure. I’ve had since childhood. Could I get some lift with a lateral brow lift rather than bleph? Or could a small amount of eyelid skin be removed?

Thank you for your photographs. Your brows appear to be in reasonable position. You also don’t appear to have much excess upper eyelid skin. Without the benefit of a physical examination, it still appears likely that you could achieve additional lateral brow elevation, and minimize the risk of removing any skin from your upper eyelid and exacerbating your problem with closing your eyes. Have your plastic surgeon give you a detailed exam so the best option can be determined for you.

You would benefit from an extended brow lift. The incision extends all the way down to level of your ear lobe. This will pull you lateral face and take care of some of the wrinkles of the lower eyelids. Also, it would lower your hairline and decrease the distance between your eyebrows and hair. This will also clean up some of the skin in the periorbital region and should not effect the eyelid closure.

It would be difficult to give you a meaningful answer to this question without in person evaluation of your eye closure function. Only on the basis of in person consultation an experienced surgeon could make decision whether upper blepharoplasty, brow lift or combination of the two would be the most appropriate procedure for your needs.
