There are various factors involved from size of recipient site incision to the amount of vascularity in the area. Generally to cover this eventuality we tend to give a few extra grafts to patients.
If these are really grafts not just the crusts that are shedding, then maybe your surgeon placed them that way. Go back and see your surgeon and ask
