Minoxidil five percent or ten percent? (Photo)

I am using Costco brand minoxidil 5 pct foam (see pic). But during my recent visit to a doc in New Delhi (India), he recommended using minoxidil 10 pct & mentioned that 5 pct will not help hair regrow after FUE. Is that true 5 pct is ineffective and 10 pct is a better strength to use. And if 5 pct is still good, is Costco brand equally effective as Rogaine? Please share your thoughts. Thanks

It is best to ask your surgeon about post operative care as each doctor has their unique regimen.  For hair loss, minoxidil 5% is recommended.

5% therapy is a standard dose, and it is giving the good results. There is no reason to take the stronger therapy.

Stay with 5% - it will give you the benefit you need without the unwanted side effects that you wish to avoid. There is no good evidence showing that 10% is better in the post-transplant setting. More important than anything is consistency. Best of luck.

Minoxidil 5% is usually strong enough if it is going to grow hair for you. The stronger solutions produce more side effects
