It is best to ask your surgeon about post operative care as each doctor has their unique regimen.  For hair loss, minoxidil 5% is recommended. 

5% therapy is a standard dose, and it is giving the good results. There is no reason to take the stronger therapy. 

Stay with 5% - it will give you the benefit you need without the unwanted side effects that you wish to avoid. There is no good evidence showing that 10% is better in the post-transplant setting. More important than anything is consistency. Best of luck.
