I have cleaned the area with wound cleaner and pat it dry is that good enough? Should I put ointment in it ? Should I go in to see my dr before my Thursday appt?
Answer: Arm Lift Wound Care Hi Denise. Doesn't look like anything to be worried about. It's not uncommon to have a little incision separation in this area after arm lifting. I think your wound care is adequate - clean and dry is best in my opinion in this location. The armpits tend to be moist enough - ointment only adds to the problem in my experience. Be sure to describe symptoms of fever, chills, or increasing pain to your doctor...should they occur. Best of luck.

Answer: Small opening in my arm lift incision, what to do ? The wound care that you are doing is a step in the right direction. I would add a small amount of ointment to the open area after cleaning the wound once or twice per day, but check with your plastic surgeon. It is not unusual for a small opening to occur in the area of the armpit and should heal well with your local wound care. Good luck.

Answer: Arm lift arm reduction arm liposuction brachioplasty post op wound armpit incision possible infection Hi Denise, Thank you for your questions regarding an opening in the armpit 10 days after your arm lift or brachioplasty. I would suggest you see your plastic surgeon right away. Your plastic surgeon may want to start or change antibiotics. Also, your plastic surgeon may want to start some antibiotic cream (like bacitracin) and antiseptic solution (like betadine). Until you see your plastic surgeon, I would keep the armpit area dry. Do not get it wet. I hope this answers your question about what to do with your armpit wounds 10 days after your arm lift. Again, see your plastic surgeon right away. If you have any other questions regarding an arm lift or brachioplasty, please contact my office. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Arm Incision Thank you for your question and photo. It is hard to tell if there is an opening on the arms incision from the photos. I would advise you to call your surgeon to discuss their post operative protocol for incision separation. Every Board Certified Plastic Surgeon has different protocols. Best Wishes.

Answer: Arm lift incision Hello, I think it's very important to be in contact with your plastic surgeon about your healing. I think the incision looks a little irritated and a bit of antibiotic ointment may help, but it's good to keep your doctor in the loop. Thanks,
