I had an accident about 2 years back. it required stitches on my upper lip. but it left me with a distorted lip line. what are my best options?
Answer: Scar revision Hello and thank you for your question. The vermillion border of your lip is misaligned. Based on your photograph, you are a great candidate for a scar revision surgery. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Answer: Misalligned upper lip Thank you for your question and the picture. Unfortunately, the upper lip has been repaired in a misaligned manner such that the vermillion border (red part of the lip) has not been attached to the adjacent side correctly. The main thing here is to cut through the existing scar, remove any scar tissue and realigning the lips to reduce the effect that you have currently. It can be tricky as there is scar tissue present which will affect the overall result but you should be able to achieve a result that is more aesthetically acceptable to you. I hope this is helpful Best wishes Rohit Seth Plastic, reconstructive, aesthetic and hair transplant surgery.
