Hello, 10months post op since BA utm 280cc gummy silicone . 5’4 120lb. The first few weeks I noticed one side is healing more narrow and smaller. I thought it would even out with time. Did I devolop cc? Flipped implant ? My dr said could be from tight bra or sleeping position? I want to go up in size as well? Would it be a simple implant exchange or do I need pocket adjustment , would the nipple position have to be adjusted too ?
Answer: Breast Asymmetry Although it is clear that your breasts have a different shape, it is difficult to get a sense of what is going on. Assuming you have round smooth implants (is that correct?), rotational changes would not have any effect on implant shape. It would be highly unusual, if not impossible, for this to be a front to back flip of a round implant; this is much more common with implants sitting in an old or overly spacious pocket, which you clearly don't have. Which reminds me, I don't think it would be a great idea going larger either; you appear to be filled to the brim. If you chose a busy breast surgeon, he or she should have a high resolution ultrasound in his office to quickly see your implants and see if there is a fluid collection (one looks much larger in the photos) or flipped implant. BTW, I've never seen a garment have any effect on the implant pocket shape or size. In all likelihood, this is a capsule related issue, i.e. capsular contracture.

Answer: Did my implant flip? An accurate diagnosis cannot be made from these photos alone. Proper assessment and treatment recommendations for your asymmetry would require a physical examination at minimum, and possibly imaging including an ultrasound. I would suggest beginning by returning to your surgeon for further information. A second opinion with a board-certified plastic surgeon may also be an option.

Answer: Implants I am not a fan of textured implants for augmentation because of more risks, including flipping and not flipping back. Your pockets can be adjusted once the implants are properly positioned. I would suggest not going larger.

Answer: Implant position Dear dumas008, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.
