Can a meaty nose go back to normal after rhinoplasty? Is the nose re-swelling normal?

Its been 5 weeks since my surgery, my swelling went down and look so good around the 4th week but now as each day goes the tip keeps getting bigger and bigger, my mum says its just swelling up again!Is that possible? My nose is a meaty nose and Ive heard with meaty noses the nose can always go back to how it was, is that true? Will the tip go back to being really thick like it was before my surgery, please help :((

Swelling of the nose can go up and down over a period of time. With the nasal tip the faster resolution of swelling above the tip can make it look as though the tip is getting larger is a matter of point counterpoint.

Thank you very much for this interesting question.Swelling time after a rhinoplasty depends of the surgery complexity (Ex.: Rhinoplasty with nasal controled nasal bones fracture (osteotomy) will have greater inflammation than one in which only the nasal tip treatment).But, generally the nasal swelling Post-op It can last from two weeks to two months.To reduce this swelling, I recommend you perform delicates daily lymphatic drainage massage therapy over the face (around the nose) avoid sun exposure, and take pain/inflamation pills, as your surgeron precribe you.Kind regards,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-

Dear AidaRemember that a noses appearance is as much about absolute size as is about proportions within the nose. as the swelling of the dorsum and ala decrease, the tip will look proportionately bigger, be patient.

Thank  you for your question.  Swelling depends on numerous
factors, including skin thickness, amount of dissection done and can take months for it to
subside.  I would have regular follow up by your plastic surgeon to see
if steroid injections or massage may help. Also, fluctuations in swelling can vary tremendously in the first year and even beyond in rare cases.  Good luck, Dr. Bublik.

Patience is key. Don't be impulsive, give the area time to heal. Try to watch your salt intake as well, as that will help with the swelling. If you are still unhappy with your results after time, consult with a physician who has a vast amount of experience in nasal surgeries.
