Can Kybella eat away at my platysma band muscles?

Kybella destroys fat cells, not platysmal bands.  It also will not cause the side of your face to be numb or your feet.  It travels only 1-2 cm and cannot reach these areas.  I would recommend seeing your provider to discuss your concerns and possible other etiologies of your symptoms. 

kybella breaks the cell membrane's of fat cells. It does not eat muscle fibers. I'm guessing this was an off label use of the product though it is FDA approved for removing fat in this area.  If you got an improvement of your platysmal band then I suppose that's just an added benefit. I'm not quite sure what your concern or question is. Nerves need fat surrounding them in order for them to work and some numbness is not uncommon after this treatment.  Anatomically the nerves that go to your feet are not related to where your treatment was done so there is no way this treatment could've caused you to have numb toes. Follow up with your provider and have him or her address your concerns.  From an aesthetic perspective, was this a good treatment for you?  You don't say if you're happy with the results or not.  Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
