Voluma and Radiesse are two of the more popular filers for deep injections such as over the cheek bones. Radiesse is more firm and only partially dissolvable in case of an unfavorable injection. Voluma is softer and completely dissolvable. Both are long lasting, with around two years of duration of action.
Juvederm Voluma is soft. Radiesse is a little more firm but it will be replaced by your own collagen after a few months. I prefer Radiesse for augmentation of the cheekbone/ malar area but both work well. It is most important to see a surgeon experienced with injection of fillers to this area.
Volume and contouring of the cheeks can be created with well-placed fillers (Voluma, Radiesse, Bellafill) and Sculptra. Ultherapy, J Plasma and rf treatments can provide skin tightening and lift. The injection site could be swollen for a couple days after the treatment which may cause it too feel more firm. Once healed, the fillers will soften and be settled into your own tissues making it more sculpted with your cheekbones. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Fillers may feel firm initially due to swelling related to injection. Over the first few weeks the product will soften as it conforms to the tissues. After this time it should feel similar to your own natural tissues.
Hello SVR. Because Voluma is Hyaluronic acid based and Radiesse is calcium microspheres, Radiesse can feel a bit firmer, especially in the days immediately following the injections. Both products soften and settle after a week or two, but Radiesse will always feel a bit firmer than Voluma just because of the material it's made out of. We love Radiesse because of the duration and support that it offers our patients.
Hello and thank you for your question. Both Radiesse and Voluma are meant to be injected in bony areas to create volume and projection while maintaining a natural look and feel. With these fillers, there is a period of swelling and/or bruising that can give a bit of a firmer feel to the treated area but shouldn't last longer than 10 days to 2 weeks. After the healing period, your cheeks should feel like your own as the fillers incorporate into your tissues. Be sure to seek an experienced injector who specializes in facial aesthetics. Best of luck!
Voluma and Radiesse normally do not feel hard, like bone, but it is possible that you could feel it immediately after it is injected. The products get incorporated into the tissue over several days and then usually cannot be felt. Radiesse is firmer than Voluma, so you might be able feel it a bit more but it can also give a little more projection to the cheeks since it is firmer.
Many people prefer Voluma because it is fully dissolvable, therefor safer. Both are more cohesive than other fillers, as they need to be for their purpose. They are injected deep and although you may feel firmness at first because of swelling, once healed, you should not be able to feel or see hard lumps. Hope this helps.
Hey there ! good question! - Voluma is a longer lasting filler and it is certainly more cohesive than other softer fillers, but it is also malleable and if injected in to the correct place it certainly shouldn't feel lumpy or corse. hope this helps.
Both Voluma and Radiesse are meant to be injected deep on bone. You may feel something in your skin immediately after treatment but with time the filler should integrate into the skin and you should not feel anything.
