Should I be worried that this office may be using false products? Is it normal to not get any swelling from Juvederm lip injections? With previous drs I always had major swelling with my lip injections. With this new place I’ve been getting injections with there’s never any swelling and the product does not last.

Answer: Juvederm Thank you for your question. Juvederm is a newer product. Similar to Restylane or Perlane, the Juvederm treatment offers very little downtime with some noticeable swelling that may last for several days. Always work with a board certified facial plastic surgeon. Best wishes,

Answer: Juvederm and swelling post injections. So many variables with swelling, if patients get too much swelling, they are worried, if not at all they are indeed worried. It must be very unethical for anyone to falsely advertise both the product and the amount of product used. Even 'churn and burn' cosmetic laser clinics in Australia don't do that...and that is saying a lot, given the KPIs they need to meet. Most Specialists, at least I do, give the patient information about the procedure - namely the brand of filler. I always include the PI or Product Information sheet. This way its crystal clear what you have received. As for swelling vs minimal swelling, it is the method that counts the most- cannula vs needle, ice, and injection speed all count. Davin Lim.
