I suspect a hyperactive mentalis muscle is the cause. When I smile, I get a witches chin although my chin is small. Can Botox lessen the severity? When I’m relaxed, my chin looks receded although it’s not (based on x-rays, my mandible is too far forward although no dental underbite). Can Botox make the muscle not be shifted downwards when I smile?
Answer: Chin dimpling? Botox treatment Yes, Botox can help with chin dimples. It will take 1-2 weeks for final results. I suggest getting a consultation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Hope this helps.

Answer: Volumizing Fillers + Botox Can Help To Improve Dimpled Chins I clearly see the dimpling in the photo when you are smiling. Botox (as well as Dysport or Xeomin) can help this motion-related (dynamic) dimpling. However, additional improvement can be achieved by the use of an injectable volumizing filler, such as Voluma XC, which I would use in my NY office and Volyme, which would be my choice in my Israel satellite facility, where a far greater number of regulatory agency approved volumizers are available. Additionally, at least in profile view at rest (i.e. in the static state) , there appears to be a rather pronounced "mental crease" (the depression immediately below the pout of the lower lip and above the upper border of the chin. If this, too, were treated with a volumizing filler, there would likely be improvement both in the projection and pout of the lower lip, as well as improved chin contour. My choices for this purpose would be Restylane Lyft (NY) and Hyabell Deep (Israel). Make sure that you consult with a board certified aesthetic physician and ask to see his/her before and after photos before agreeing to proceed. Best of luck.

Answer: Just because Botox can be injected into your chin does not mean it is right. Botox will not accomplish what you are looking for. It is primarily used to smooth dimpling in the chin caused by the contraction of the mentalis muscle. It can also cause some bizarre side effects if the treatment is not balanced. Caution is advised. I personally think you would do better with Restylane Lyft for added chin volume. I do not recommend a chin implant.

Answer: You could consider having a small amount of Botox injected into the mentalis muscle. Thank you for your question! You could consider having a small amount of Botox injected into the mentalis muscle. I typically inject 5 units total with two injection points close to the midline on the lower chin. The effects of Botox go away with time so the risk with low dose Botox should be minimal. Make sure to see an experienced injector. Best of luck!
