BBL Post-op: Can I walk up a flight of stairs on same day after procedure?

Question

Can I walk up a flight of stairs on the same day following a BBL procedure? I will have liposuction of the abdomen, flanks, back, arms and inner thighs. I am looking into rental properties and would like to know if I should omit properties from my search that do not have the bedroom on the main floor. Thank you!

I appreciate your question.

That really all depends on the patient but it probably isn't the best idea on post op day 1.  Best to discuss with your surgeon as he/she is most familiar with your medical history and how you will be healing.

The best way to assess and give
true advice would be an in-person exam.

There is no restriction on walking up or down a flight of stairs the day of your Brazilian Butt Lift procedure.  Considering you will likely be having general anesthesia, make sure you have someone walking up or down with you to keep you steady.Rental properties on the first floor or with an elevator will be best for you. Hi Marie, Thank you for your question.  Your ability to walk up a flight of stairs after surgery will depend entirely on how well your pain is controlled.  Generally, my patients do not have an issue with climbing stairs.  However, that is not to say that you won't need help.  Because you have a choice for temporary housing, I'd imagine that NOT having to climb stairs during the first 3-4 days after surgery would be easier on you.  It's just not necessary.

BBL involves placement of fat pacules on the order to 0.1 to 0.5cc in volume wedged into the fat and muscle tissues of the buttocks cheek. As these fat cells are wedged into the tissues, there is little movement possible for these fat cells; thus walking/sitting are not likely to change the position of your fat cells.

I think this is a difficult question that no one can give you an accurate answer to.Some people can barely walk upstairs even without having procedures. Juicing which apartment to rent based on the recovery of a single procedure seems a bit extreme.I can tell you is most patients I have a fairly easy recovery in regards to daily activities after a BBL. we always recommend someone spend the first 24 hours after surgery with the patient.This is generally a good idea and having someone escort you up and down the stairs would be a good idea.
