How Can I Fix my Uneven Breasts and Areolas? (photo)

It is unclear from your photos and email if you have ever had surgery on your breasts, but it appears that you have had a breast augmentation on the right breast, and a reduction of mastopexy (breast lift) on your left breast. Breast asymmetry is very common and there are varying degrees in different women. So the first thing you need to know is that there is nothing wrong with you, and that you are in the company of many other women. That being said, there could be potentially several solutions for you. Your best bet is to speak with your plastic surgeon if you have already had surgery, and share your concerns with him or her. Alternatively, you can seek a second opinion consultation with an experienced board certified plastic surgeon who is extensive experience in breast surgery and particularly with the correction of breast asymmetry.Your breasts, albeit not identical, are still very pretty and can probably be made even more so with the right surgical treatment plan. Best of luck to you.

The answer to your question will be best obtained by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in consultation. There are a number of possibilities to make your breast more symmetrical, however, you need a frank discussion of what you will be willing to give up(scars, time, cost etc.) for what you expect to obtain. 

Breast asymmetry occurs in about 90% of patients, so it is normal, but yours is more noticeable than most.  You have some chest wall asymmetry, and whatever you do, some asymmetry will persist.  Placing an incision with removal of some around your right areola (doughnut), will stretch out the areola some, and allow it to be lowered. At the same time you could remove with a doughnut excision some of the areola skin from the left breast. Those two maneuvers together would improve the asymmetry substantially. There would still be some differences in size and shape, but overall your breasts have a nice shape, and I would not recommend anything more drastic. 

It is difficult to give you advice by viewing your single
image, but the most striking feature that I notice is the asymmetric (uneven)
appearance of your areola (dark area around nipple). I would first consider
seeking consultation with someone experienced in areolar tattooing for breast
cancer reconstruction. Your image gives me the impression that you do not have any
excess in body fat, but if this is not the case, you may also consider fat
grafting to your right breast which might help with some of the unevenness.

This is a hard one.  There are many different types of asymmetries between those 2 breasts.  I would love to take some measurements, but I think the right nipple might actually be too HIGH.  If you really wanted symmetry, you might need to LIFT the left one and make it even smaller.  Also, there is a tight fold at the bottom of the left breast and almost none on the right.  You could create a crisper IMF on the right side.  

Breasts close to volume even, areolae are asymmetric. I recommend lipo with fat grafts to even out volume and right areolar expansion than tattoo for color match... 

Fat injection could be a good option to correct the right breast upper pole combined withtattoo  and/or areolar  lowering

Thanks for the photo.  Tough problem.    My gut feeling is that the attempts at correction will likely fail to correct your deformity without secondary deformity.  Best to get someone to examine you and give you the benefit of an examination.Best wishes

Thanks for the question.  There are several possibilities, but this is best discussed with a local Plastic Surgeon.  Perhaps you could reduce the left breast and perform a left doughnut mastopexy to balance the two different shapes;  another possibility is to expand the upper pole size of the right breast with fat injections;  this is a possibility that both techniques may need to be considered.  I didn't discuss breast implants, but for the correct need this may be a consideration.Good luck to you!Frank Rieger M.D.  Tampa Plastic Surgeon
