How can I restore symmetry to my eyes a year after eyelid surgery? (Photos)

Question

I have spent months trying to understand what is wrong with the result. I understand that the (left) eyelid skin has been stretched too much and attached wrong. The outer eyelid corner goes up sharper and higher than the right eyelid. I suspect a fox-eye surgery was performed, which I did not ask for. I also did not ask that only one eyelid would be done differently. Somehow, the whole left eyelid/eyeslit area seems smaller/tighter on the left side. How do I restore symmetry? It seems fixable, as pushing the skin inwards seems to solve most problems. Is there a suture under the skin giving the outer left eyelid corner a weird/tight look? I have contacted the surgeon for a year, he will not answer any communication.

It is very difficult to assess your result without series of  before surgery photos. Your problem seems to be very subtle and only in person evaluation can help to establish right diagnosis. Sometimes the scar in lateral canthal area can heal longer and contribute to asymmetry. In person consultation with a board certified plastic or oculoplastic surgeon with good reputation in eyelid surgery is recommended. Good luck.

The vast majority of my time as an oculoplastic surgeon is revising unsatisfactory eyelid surgery performed by other surgeons. It is essential to understand, and you may already know this, not every surgeon who seems to be in the eyelid revision business is able to help you. You are in Europe and in my informed opinion, it is challenging and likely impossible to get the type of revisional surgery you need. In studying your photos, it appears that you have upper eyelid retraction. You did not attach before photos but clearly the result of surgery is surprising to you. A detailed in person assessment is essential to define what issues concern you, how the consequences of your surgery cause those issues, and what resources are left to address these concerns. This type of assessment can't be accomplished over video call to Beverly Hills. You need a detailed in person assessment. My message to you is that most of these unsatisfactory changes can be improved.
