I have my pre-op for breast augmentation coming up Aug 8th (next Wed). I'm trying to decide if the SCX is worth the expense. I am also concerned that they might also feel too hard since 1. I do not have much existing fatty tissue and 2. I plan to continue to stay active and lift weights -building the overlying muscle.
Answer: COHESIVE VS SOFTTOUCH The short answer is the feel. In my office I have the patient feel the different type of implants. I use both these implants on a regular basis. I feel the Cohesive implant is always best in a woman who has lost firmness from pregnancy, breast feeding or weight fluctuations. I have also used this implant in nulliparous women with excellent results. You have to weigh the cost benefits. I prefer the "gummy bear" implants soft or cohesive.

Answer: Soft Touch implants vs the Cohesive Thanks for your question about Allergan Inspira breast implants. The new line of Inspira breast implants are really great options for patients and there is a choice which can be made in terms of both profiles and the thickness or cohesivity of the gel. In my practice I refer to this difference as gummy, gummier, and gummiest. In terms of comparing the gummier soft touch to the gummiest cohesive gels I tell patients that the cohesives will feel a little bit more firm, but have a more pronounced roundness to the upper pole. In my practice I have found that some patients find the cohesive line to be a little too firm and that many patients are very satisfied with the look and feel of the soft touch implant which delivers great roundness, upper pole projection, and a soft feel. Visit with your board certified plastic surgeon to discuss these options and decide what may suit you the best.Best Wishes

Answer: Allergan natrelle implants Thank you for your question. I tell my patients all of the Inspira line are gummy gel implants, but the level of cohesiveness is different. Gummy, gummier, gummiest. Or softest, medium, and the firmest. Personally I think the highly cohesive (SC series) are a little to firm for aesthetic surgery and are better suited in reconstructive surgery. The soft touch works well for patients who have loss of upper pole volume, some degree of ptosis and wish to achieve upper pole fullness with still a soft breast. Good luck.

Answer: Implant options Allergan's Cohesive implants are designed to improve upper pole fullness, which is the upper part of your breast. Our practice offers patients this option as well. We have found clients appreciate the option to chose the level of cohesiveness of their implant. We only offer Allergan implants because I believe that they are the best implants available. The variety of sizes and profiles adds to the appeal allowing customization to the patients needs. While all three cohesive implants are of the highest quality, your surgeon may recommend one over the other based on your anatomy.
