Icing, arnica, cold compresses and VBeam treatments can improve the appearance of this bruise. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Dear Coletteb,Thank you for your question. Bruising is not uncommon after filler treatment especially in the tear trough areas where the skin is thin. Ice can be applied to areas of bruising for up to 48 hours after the treatment. Medications such as Arnica can also be used to help resolve the bruising process more quickly. It is also helpful to avoid blood thinning products such as NSAIDs and fish oil. With severe bruising, it may take weeks for the bruising to resolve. I recommend that you continue close follow-up with your provider and return for repeat evaluation if there are any new or worsening concerns.
Hi and thank you for your question! Bruising is common after filler (especially in highly vascular areas such as under eyes). Use of cannula for injection can help reducing it, but obviously it doesn't completely eliminate the chance as was the case with you. There isn't much that can be done once bruising happens and time is the best remedy. It should be all gone within 2 weeks. In the meanwhile, applying arnica and taking foods rich in vitamin C can help. I recommend by patients to get a fresh pineapple, chop it and but it in a blender and drink tons of it. It's yummy and the vitamin C helps a bit with the bruising. I hope it helps and good luck!
Bruising after Belotero or really any filler on tear thruff is not unusual. Is such a delicate area. But the good news is that all bruises go away and if you apply Arnica Gel 3 or 4 times a day for the next 3 days sometimes the bruises start to lightens pretty quickly... Good luck on your final result. I bet you will be very pleased!
Thank you for sharing your question and photo. Unfortunately there is not much you can do now but wait. Your bruise should dissipate within 2 weeks. Prior to your next injection- be sure you stop all blood thinning products and medications i.e.: alcohol, vitamins, aspirin etc. Speak to your board certified plastic surgeon/injector for a complete list of do's and don'ts prior to injections.
Hi,Unfortunately with any injection there is always going to be a risk of bruising. The skin underneath the eye area is very thin, and therefore subject to increased risk of this happening. Since you have already done your treatment, the best post treatment regimen would be to use oral Arnica Montana, and also apply topical Arnica Montana cream three to four times daily. These can be usually be bought at any Supplement or Whole food store. Going forward, if you decide to do filler treatments again, I would recommend starting Oral Arnica Montana one week before your procedure, and if approved by your physician, stop all blood thinning medications. These would include aspirin, anti inflammatory treatments, over the counter supplements such as fish oil, COQ10, Vitamin E, Glucosamine and flax seed. This will help to decrease the risk of bruising at any treatment site. Normally it can take up to 2 weeks for all bruising to resolve, so I would recommend following up with your injector if you do not notice a significant improvement within this time.Dr. Paul A. At this point, cold compresses are less likely to help much (most effective the first 24-72 hours post procedure). I have seen reduced overall bruising/swelling and faster resolution of established bruises with oral Arnica and Vitamin C. Additionally, keeping your head elevated while sleeping and minimizing vigorous activity and exercise for several more days may help expedite your recovery. The bruising may take a few weeks to resolve but it always does. Best wishes.
After receiving Belotero injections, bruising can occur. Bruising and swelling can last up to two weeks, and occasionally longer in some patients. There are certain medications, such as aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, as well as some herbs, that can thin the blood and make you more likely to bruise. It is best to avoid these medications for at least a week before your procedure. Topical Arnica Montana can help with the bruising. Also, using cold compresses after the injection will help decrease bruising and swelling. It is best to avoid strenuous activity, sun or heat exposure, aspirin or non-steroidal anti- inflammatory medications, and alcoholic beverages for a few days after the procedure as well. Communicate closely with your provider for any questions and concerns.
Thank you for your question. It can take up to 2 weeks for swelling and bruising from tear trough injections to go away. The skin in this area is very thin. You can help with very light ice pack, not applying too much pressure and trying Arnica. If after 2 weeks, you are still having significant swelling then return to your injector and have them evaluate you.Good Luck
Thank you for your inquiry! Swelling and bruising is always a possibility with injectables. Arnica Montana is an oral supplement that you can take to help reduce bruising in the injection site. I would recommend taking this before any injectables in the future as well. Icing will not likely help with bruising in the area, but icing on and off will help reduce swelling. Hopefully this was helpful! Best of luck to you!
It takes 1-2 weeks for final results with tear trough fillers. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase. Keep in mind, a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement for under the eyes. I recommend fillers with lasers, and mic...
Hi and thank you for your question! As long as it is a few days since the filler injection, there shouldn't be any concerns with regards to filler movement with chiropractic adjustment and pressure. The risk is even lower with Belotero since it tends to diffuse more uniformly in the skin. You s...
Hi and thank you for your question! Belotero is a great filler and excellent choice for treatment of fine lines in forehead, neck, etc given that is diffuses nicely under the skin and produce uniform results. This being said, Belotero is among the fillers that last relatively shorter and mos...
