Are eyelash changes caused by ptosis surgery (mullerectomy)?

Hi. About three years ago, I had a unilateral mullerectomy to correct mild/moderate ptosis. Not long afterwards, I noticed that the eyelashes of that eye seemed to point down more than that of the unoperated eye and their direction of growth is less uniform. Are these things related? Furthermore, as my eyelid is still somewhat droopy, a repeat procedure including tarsectomy has been recommended. Would this 2nd procedure put me at risk for additional eyelash problems such as trichiasis?
