Can Kybella injections be used for a slight reduction in the size of a breast?

Question

I have breast asymmetry, and I've noticed with the larger breast that it crosses into the plane of my arm. Because of this, when I fold my arms my larger breast is slightly caught under my arm. Could injections into the side of the breast perhaps reduce its size and prevent this from happening?

Thank you for your question. Kybella can potentially help with the breast asymmetry.  This product aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into subcutaneous fat, this molecule destroys fat cells. It is hard to tell for sure without an examination, but most likely that Kybella won't work. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

100% of women have asymmetrical breasts. Most women’s left breast sets 1/2 inch higher than the right breast Mild to moderate asymmetry is normal.  Kybella Is not a good option for correcting this if you want to intervention. Some surgical intervention is more appropriate. Liposuction would work well for removal of small amounts of fat specially on the side of the breast or under the armpit.I do these as office base procedures using local anesthesia.I suggest having a few in person consultations.I would definitely not move forward with your proposed solution.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
