I am feeling overwhelmed by the different brands of implants- Mentor, Sientra, Inspira, Motiva...I can't seem to find any reason to get one over the other, but there has to be a superior brand. Help!?
Answer: Implant Brand They are all excellent companies with excellent products. They are essentially trying to compare a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin to each other. Your surgeon likely has a preference and you will not have a choice in the type of implant manufacturer.

Answer: Superior breast implant manufacturer/brand? Dear Sicily1987, Thank you for your question. There is no "superior" implant brand or manufacturer. Each has a slightly different product and different benefits and disadvantages. For example, Allergan no longer makes textured implants, while Sientra only provides their implants to board-certified plastic surgeons, but does not currently offer an 800cc silicone implant. This is a complex question and one that is better answered in person to give a thorough answer. I recommend you see a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in breast surgery and breast augmentations.

Answer: Implant brands Hi, There are many different implant brands and it is certainly understandable to feel overwhelmed by them. Each company has their own features they promote, but to be on the market they all have to meet the strict safety requirements set in place by the FDA. The main differences come down to slight variations in sizes offered, warranty, sometimes outer shell. At the end of the day it should come down to a discussion with you and your plastic surgeon as to which suits your needs and which brand they are most comfortable with. Best of luck!

Answer: Implant brands Opinions will vary by surgeon as there are several quality companies. I recommend first finding a board certified plastic surgeon with whom you feel comfortable and confident to perform your augmentation. Ask her/his opinion on the brand recommended for you and why.

Answer: Implant Dear Sicily1987, breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.
