In some patients, under projecting chins can result in a “mentalisstrain” – i.e. dimpling of the chin and difficulty closing the lips, similar towhat you described. The vertical height along with the deficiency of projectioncan be corrected through a sliding genioplasty. When you chin has decreasedvertical length, it tends to make your nose appear longer than it actually is.During my consultations I perform a simple facial analysis to determine yourprojection deficiency. Typically your lower facial height should be equal or upto 3mm greater than your midface height. In my opinion you would benefitgreatly from the results of a genioplasty to add balance to the rest of yourfacial features.
