Rhinoplasty 6 months ago & since then I noticed that my nostrils are not the same, advice? (Photos)

I am sure that you have heard that it takes at least one year, usually longer, for rhinoplasty result to mature and stabilize. It would be wise to wait another year to see what kind of improvement will happen. Your photos do not show any significant “deformity” that requires surgery. Be patient and you may be surprised with final outcome. Hope this helps.

Hello and thank you for your question. After rhinoplasty (nasal surgery), the nose can become REALLY swollen, and this swelling can take a LONG TIME to resolve (up to 1-2 years to fully resolve). Even though most of the swelling should resolve within the first 2-3 months after surgery- at 6 months postop there would still be some swelling present. I see what you're saying about the nostrils and your alae, and some of this potential asymmetry could be attributable to postop swelling. From the frontal view, the asymmetry that you're noting, although present, isn't immediately apparent- it is really most apparent on "worm's eye" view (looking up your nose from down below), which thankfully most people in most real world situations will never actually see you from this angle. I constantly remind all my rhinoplasty patients how important it is to be patient after rhinoplasty surgery as it can take up to 2 years to see what the final nose will look like. I recommend that you continue to observe things for now until you are at least 2 years post-op, and stay in regular contact with your operative surgeon to help gauge expectations and discuss potential next steps.
