3 small basic questions regarding my 2 months post body contouring operation, I’d appreciate the help! Im very concerned

I did body contouring procedure 2 months ago I removed some fat from my belly, waist and thighs I placed a bit of it in my butt 1- i didn’t see much changes in my thighs will I see more changes later 2- my lower belly did water retention, my dr removed a bit of water with a needle and then gave me a medication injection, is that normal? then a bit of it reappeared 3- my dr freezed a bit of fat so I can reinject it later in my butt 2 months post op in case I wanted a bigger deriere, is that safe

Dear Aquabluelove1,
I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a BBL surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides  you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.

Thanks for your question. The fat cannot be freezed to use later, if it's not used right after liposuctioned then i goes to waste. You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety.  A key quality indicator is Board Certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.

Thanks for the question and provided information as well.
You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to six months to see your final results, so please be patient. At the stage you are in, inflammation is normal. 
If you are not happy with the results then, l recommend you to make an in-person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for a proper answer and to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.

I am concerned that you did not go to a board certified plastic surgeon. We actually have not figured out how to safely freeze fat for use at a later date for cosmetic surgery. Seromas (fluid collection after liposuction) needs to be treated, so make sure you have regular follow up.

At 2 months, your body might not be healed all the way. You need to give 3-6 months before you can truly review your results -- you may still have swelling. That being said, it is not uncommon for patient's to have revisions performed to really perfect the results. But I want to make clear that it is NOT safe to inject fat 2 months after you had the procedure done. With the appropriate methodology, there should be fat somewhere on your body that can be liposuctioned and grafted if you need another round of BBL.If, after 3-6 months, you are a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) revision, the optimal outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons.  A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing.

your post races several concerns. Was your provider a board-certified plastic surgeon?  Somehow I don't think so.  Freezing fat and storing it  for further use is highly inappropriate for multiple reasons. Technically to do this one should have a tissue bank which is highly regulated and complex. Far beyond what most providers can afford or accomplish.  On top of this freezing the fat ruptures the cell membrane's making it non-viable for future injection.  A fluid buildup that's drained with a needle is referred to as a Seroma. The correct treatment for this is frequent aspirations with a needle like you described until it's gone. The correct treatment is not injecting it with inflammatory substances with the hope that it goes away. Failure to treat these aggressively and early can lead to encapsulation and a permanent Seroma. These fluid buildup's are fairly rare from liposuction but sometimes happen when the use of VASER is done.  This is an ultrasound assisted form of liposuction.  You need to be assessed to see if you still have a permanent fluid buildup. This is best done by physical examination or an ultrasound.  Re-injecting the frozen fat will lead to scar tissue formation and most likely zero long-term benefit.  Consider a second opinion with an in person consultation from a local board-certified plastic surgeon who has expertise with this procedure.  Plastic surgeons often give free consultations but it is fair to expect to pay for a second opinion evaluation.  Posting on real self it's not an accurate way to get assessed though and it's convenient and free.  Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

I hope by now you have recovered well. At 2 months it is very difficult to see the results at least in the lower back and the tummy and thighs areas. However, The buttocks should look ok. If you still has the same feeling, I suspect it is because of your lower back that is still not curvey enough to make the buttock appear as they should be. Best,Shady Hayek
