Can you have a BBL and tummy tuck with 360lipo at the same time?

I want a BBL obviously with 360 lipo but I know that I'd have loose skin afterwards(I have loose skin now) is it possible to have a tummy tuck at the same time as my BBL?

Thank you for your question. I often do not recommend my patients perform a BBL and a Tummy 
Tuck at the same time as it makes recovery difficult not being able to 
sleep on your back (BBL) or stomach (TT). I recommend candidates 
proceeding with the liposuction and BBL and then later addressing the 
loose skin, as liposuction alone won't address excess skin. As always, 
consult with a plastic surgeon in person so they may better address the 
procedures with you and help you achieve the aesthetic results you

Thanks for your question. Yes, a tummy tuck and a BBL (which includes 360 lipo) can be done at the same time. However, keep in mind that having them done separately allows for more predictability of the result. Furthermore, the recovery is more difficult when procedures are combined. The patient can only sleep on her sides and this makes for a very uncomfortable recovery. In addition, the post-surgery pain is much greater. That said, if the two procedures are done separately, it makes sense to do the tummy tuck first and then 4-5 months later, a BBL can be performed. The reason being that if you have significant excess skin and you get liposuction in that area, the area will look wrinkled, scarred, and irregular. Also doing significant liposuction on the abdomen and then having a tummy tuck later can predispose you to wound healing complications after the tummy tuck. It’s a pleasure to answer your questions! I would recommend you getting a VASER Liposuction with fat transfer to the buttocks (Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) done first, and an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) six months after you’re fully recovered from the initial procedure. Dividing the surgical plan into two stages would the best option for: 1) removing excess fat from specific areas such as arms, back, abs and flanks while reshaping your figure and giving you a fuller, beautifully rounded backside, and 2) getting rid of excess skin, and eliminating stretch marks in the abdominal area, while tightening your skin for a more athletic look. Based on my experience, after performing BBL surgery you must avoid sitting or sleeping on your back for 6-8 months or else the desired outcome will be negatively affected. Putting pressure on your bottom by sitting down or laying on it during the recovery period can stiffen, deform and even cause the resorption of the newly transplanted fat cells. On the other hand, if you get an abdominoplasty done at the same time, you’ll be required to sleep on your back and keep your upper body elevated or else you would hurt the results. Hence, it wouldn’t be suitable to get all the procedures performed at once. Your plastic surgeon would need to evaluate you in person and estimate your Body Mass Index (BMI) in order to determine if you are a good candidate for these procedures at the moment. It's possible to combine a BBL procedure and a tummy tuck in the same setting if you are in good health and if you are able to recover while spending most of your time on your side- to avoid pressure on the buttock and abdomen.A consultation is needed to examine your anatomy, if you have loose skin you will still have loose, if not looser, skin after surgery.Best wishes,Dr.Bruno

Yes you can. Combination procedures are safe and very effective in the right hands.  The surgeon HAS to be an expert in EACH procedure and must have a lot of experience in performing combination procedures and can minimize the operative time. You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety.  Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.

You could have the tummy tuck done first; then the lipo and BBL.  However, the result will not be as tight as lipo and BBL first and then tummy tuck.  Both can be performed at the same time, but the upper abdomen cannot be aggressively liposuctioned at the time of the tummy tuck due to blood supply issues. The reason for this is simple.  More skin can be removed when less fat is present.   In recovery, you will not be able to rest on your stomach or back comfortably.  Also, resting on your back may compromise the fat grafting result.  I perform these two procedures hundreds of times each per year, because many of my patients only want to go through surgery and recovery one time.  I would make that decision based upon patient goals and anatomy.

Thank you for your question. This is complicated question to answer. Combining multiple procedures puts you at increased risk for intra-operative and post operative complications. So be sure to have a candid conversation with your board certified plastic surgeon about your past medical history, current BMI, medication list, family history and surgical plan. Safety should be your paramount concern when discussing surgery. If your board certified plastic surgeonn deems it safe to combine, consider nursing care post op, as the recovery will be more challenging with multiple body areas involved. Good luck!
