At this time you need wound care -- vitamin c, vitamin b, silicone based scar gels with growth factors, light stim PDT with growth factors --- for healing.  Redness and/or swelling can be typical after Co2 and it can take 6-12 weeks for laser results to settle. I recommend following up with a cosmetic dermatologist for after care and skin care recommendations.Sun protection is essential. Lasers like Co2 work best in combination with other treatments in order to improve the skin's texture and collagen. After Co2, I recommend adding fraxel lasers, microneedling/prp and radiofrequency treatments. Best, Dr. Emer

CO2 laser resurfacing is an outstanding treatment that can address multiple
aspects of aging in a single treatment. After a treatment one will see a grid-like pattern of dots on the treatment area. This takes one week or so to heal on the face and longer for other areas. For my patients I recommend applying the Avene Thermal water and Elta MD intense moisturizer every couple of hours for the first 1-2 weeks to allow for full healing. Please
