Are the effects of microneedling on scars permanent?

Question

I have an scar that is basically an indentation on my forehead, and I am considering getting microneedling to improve it's appearance. I know if I were doing this to look younger the results would require maintenance, but if I am doing microneedling to rebuild damaged collagen, not to reverse the effects of time, does it still require maintenance?

If you get to a point where you are happy with scar reduction, you can stop. There is ongoing collagen remodeling in the body and you may or may not need additional treatments. Maintenance microneedling, otherwise, is recommended for skin tightening, facial wrinkles, stretch marks ..Dr H Karamanoukian#RealSelf100 Member
