I washed my face the night that I did a facial. Does that mean I won't get the result of the facial?

Hey doctor. After I did facial my doctor didn’t tell me that I shouldn’t wash my face for 24 hours. Last night I washed my face with a soap and this morning to that I have been using this soap for a while. Does that mean that I won’t get the result of facial?

Hi, thank you for your question. In short it depends what you use for skincare and how many hydrafacial treatments you’ve received. You will notice a difference after one though, it takes several treatments to receive full facial benefits for your concerns. It is important to use medical grade skincare for your home care routines. Washing your face after one treatment may affect the outcome of your facial because you want to let all the good nutrients to absorb into the skin. We recommend that you see a licensed esthetician who is a Hydrafacial specialist for these types of treatments.

Hello and thank you for your question. Following your three step night time skin care regimen is very important. Throughout the day, your skin will build up dead skin cells, oil, bacteria, sweat and environmental debris. Generally, the build up on the skin can accelerate skin agin, dryness and infection. Hi, thank you for your inquiry. Its best to allow your skin to absorb all of the serum left on from the Hydrafacial. Sometimes our skin may need more time for absorption and sometimes it may not. It all depends. You should be fine if you waited until the very end of the day to wash your face. Moving forward  with drinking water, using a gentle facial moisturizer can help lock hydration in and keep your skin feeling beautiful. Keep up a healthy skin care routine and continue more hydrafacials!

Hi! Thank you for the question. We generally advise our patients to allow the serums and skin care products to have a few hours to penetrate into the skin. We also advise our patients to resume their regular skin care routine the night of the hydrafacial procedure. I hope this helps. Best wishes!

Washing your face should not undo a facial. All the job that was done during the facial should last you a good bit of time. If it was a hydrafacial, then you have got the benefits of all the products that they used on you. Usually you will be asked to wash and clean up notmally after a facial
