Does the hydrafacial cause you to break out afterwards?

I just had a hydrafacial yesterday at 11:15. When I got home and actually looked at myself in the mirror that night at 8 I noticed a huge zit on my chin and some small Whitehead’s on my cheeks and chin. Is this normal? I’ve had hormonal acne before which I had in control with just 1-2 zits during that time of month but never small little Whitehead’s.

Thank you for your question.  The HydraFacial is a gentle yet powerful tool to cleanse, exfoliate and infuse peptides, hyaluronic acid and other essential elements for healthy skin into tissue.
Sometimes this will bring out congestion that has been underlying in the skin as the body is seeking to cleanse itself.  Manage your aftercare as directed by your medical aesthetician and talk to him/her about aftercare that will enhance your outcome!

HydraFacial is a treatment that uses technology (a medical-grade device) to cleanse, extract, and hydrate skin. It is normal for acne prone skin to purge post treatment. I would recommend you seek advice from a board certified  Dermatologist to address treatment for hormonal acne. Best of luck.

Yes, it is perfectly normal to break out after HydraFacial.
After HydraFacial, the skin tends to purge and can cause breakouts which are only temporary.

Yes, experiencing breakouts after a HydraFacial is normal. Depending on the quality and type of the skin agents used during treatment, a post-facial break out may occur. Sometimes after the treatment, not all the oils are extracted which can cause purging of the pores which then the pore does its own self-cleaning. Break outs are only temporary which will subside within a few days.
