I'm 13 weeks post lower facelift surgery and although it has gone down I'm still left with a pea sized lump on my cheek. I've been massaging it as advised by my PS but it's not going down. Should I ring him or will it go away in time? Thank you

Answer: Follow with your surgeon At this point, it will still improve with time. RF and or ultrasound treatments might help speed recovery. Follow with your doctor for further care.

Answer: Lump after Facelift It is always hard to tell exactly what is going on without being able to see or feel it for yourself, but a pea sized lump in that area may be one of the stitches that was used to secure the lift. Some surgeons use permanent stitches and some use slowly dissoluble ones. If it is the later it will go away over time, but may take many months. There are other things that can cause a lump as well, but a stitch is one of the most common. I would suggest you follow-up with your surgeon as scheduled, so they can keep an eye on the healing process. I hope this helped, good luck!!
