Should I trust the same surgeon to fix my lower face lift gone wrong? (Photos)

Hello and thank you for your question. If you feel that the surgeon who performed the original procedure, did not do a good job, try a different, well known surgeon. If possible, ask to view a gallery of photos of their work, and if they have experience re-visitting a procedure such as the one you had. 

This is a difficult question for me or any other Surgeon to answer, because that decision is based on your level of trust and communication with your Surgeon.  Although an examination would provide definitive information, my impression based on the photos is that a revision facelift, likely with perioral or full face resurfacing would be most appropriate.  I do not think a midface lift is going to provide a great deal of satisfaction, but cannot say this definitively without an in-person consultation.  Every Surgeon wants to make their patients happy, and some patients have a greater degree of soft tissue relaxation after the procedure.  If you aren't sure, seek a few more opinions from Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeons or Plastic Surgeons who highlight facelift in their practice. 

If you distrust the surgeon, I suggest seeking a second opinion via a board certified cosmetic dermatologist or a facial plastic surgeon. An in person evaluation is needed in order to determine the best treatment modality. Best, Dr. Emer. 

Based on the photos you have shared, you are a candidate for a full facelift.  It sounds like there was miscommunication between you and your surgeon.  It is important to feel comfortable with your surgeon as you embark on the surgery journey.  It sounds like you should seek other opinions to feel comfortable with your choice.  Take a copy of the operative reports from your prior surgery to discuss with other surgeons you visit.
