I have 2 children currently & we've been discussing the possibility of having another. I'm currently in the process of consulting/scheduling a BBL with Lipo 360. I've seen conflicting info about whether a pregnancy would affect my BBL results. If I didn't gain excessive weight during pregnancy (with previous pregnancies I gained 20lbs & 17lbs), kept up a healthy lifestyle during/after pregnancy, would my results from my BBL stick around or is it a waste if I plan on having another child?
Answer: Baby after BBL? I've seen conflicting info about whether a pregnancy would affect my BBL results. Hello dear! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. I suggest you wait until having children, because, during and after pregnancy, your body will experience multiple changes, and the results of a BBL might be compromised. l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know. Good luck :)

Answer: Pregnancy changes to BBL results Pregnancies do not change women’s fat distribution. Pregnancy related changes are generally abdominal skin laxity, abdominal muscle separation and potential temporary weight gain. Considering you’ve been through it twice then you know what those pregnancies did to your body and it’s unlikely a third pregnancy would be much different in terms of physiological post pregnancy changes. Even if you gain some weight then lose the weight your fat distribution alone isn’t going to change. Only the amount of fat that you carry based on weight gain or weight loss. For this reason pregnancy does not affect Liposuction or fat transfer results. Of course weight fluctuations can cost changes in skin tone or skin laxity and skin laxity contributes significantly to body contour. The right time to do a BBL is when someone is motivated enough to have the procedure. The discussion for a full tummy tuck is quite different and this procedure should only be done when women are fairly confident that they were not planning on having more children. Then again, a tummy tuck primarily treats pregnancy related changes which are abdominal skin laxity and muscle separation. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
