I don't feel swollen?? And I didn't have much drainage. At this rate I will never convince people I had it done. Also has anybody had a fast heartbeat after the lidocaine?
Answer: The aesthetic drama of liposuction is related to the amount of fat removed and enhanced definition If you had a large amount of fat removed from bulging areas, you should expect to see major improvement in the contours immediately. The skin may be loose initially, but the shape change should apparent. If minimal fat was removed, you won't see much now or later. If you were relatively lean to start, definition should be apparent soon after surgery. The arms lipo on the photo link below was taken 6 weeks after surgery, but the shape and definition were already visible the day after surgery.

Answer: Post Liposuction Irregularities, Swelling -- Try Massage, Velashape or Venus Legacy With Your Compression It is very common to have bruising and swelling for weeks to months after liposuction procedures. you may not be able to appreciate your results for a while, but in my practice, patients typically see results immediately. What is most important is that you follow your surgeons post operative instructions and continue compression. If you are concerned, lymphatic massage and Velashape or Venus Legacy treatments can be used to improve the swelling and help the skin tighten. My patients start treatments right away and it improves the long term results. Speak to your physician if you are concerned. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Tickle Lipo 2 weeks post-op, no changes yet, normal? If all these areas were done at one time, were they done under general anesthesia? Because, I honestly don't know how all these areas could be done safely and thoroughly with local anesthesia only. The fact that you asked about a fast heartbeat makes me think you had it under local with epinephrine being present in the anesthesia which could contribute to the rapid heart rate, esp. if an excessive amount of anesthesia had to be used to numb all the areas you had worked. Granted with you being only 2 weeks out, you are still very early in the healing process. Your swelling should be resolving, but you would now be in what is called the proliferative process of healing which is hardening, lumpy/bumpiness under the skin. That would make it look like there is no change as yet. Very hard to give you any more answers than that without an examination. Best to ask your surgeon how much fat was removed and within a month or so ask to see your before pictures and compare them to where you are at that time. Hope this helps. Best, Dr. Z

Answer: Results post tickle lipo Tickle lipo for a number of areas may not have been sufficient to provide you the results that you seek. Request to speak with your surgeon to express your concerns as he or she should know the scope of the surgery and the specifics about you.

Answer: Results after liposuction and tachycardia Results after liposuction take time. Regardless of which technology is used, when liposuction is done correctly on a patient who is a good candidate, immediate improvements are typically seen. From then on, results continue to improve over the next three months.Lidocaine does not cause an increased heart rate, but epinephrine does. Most liposuction numbing solutions use a combination of lidocaine and epinephrine. Epinephrine is the same as adrenaline and causes hearts to beat faster.I suggest that you bring your concerns to your plastic surgeon. The number one reason patients do not see results after liposuction, if given enough time to heal, is that they were not good candidates for the procedure in the first place. The second reason is that the procedure was performed insufficiently.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
