Just got 8 veneers on today. Veneers too translucent on the bottom?

I am not liking how it looks like there is a line drawn on my 4 front teeth with the translucency. I know this is meant to look natural but not to me. My dentist said he will redo if I'm not happy. Am I overreacting? I would like more opinions on this since I only see questions about those complaining of opaqueness

Translucency in veneers is a good thing and helps keep them from looking opaque.  I would give several weeks of wearing them before you jump to the conclusion to remove them.  Good luck.

If you feel your veneers are too translucent on the bottom, go back to see your dentist and let him/her know how you feel.  Some patients like the translucency at the bottom, and some do not.  It is meant to look more natural, since most dentists place veneers that are too opaque, however, if the translucency isn't done correctly it can look very unnatural.

its because of uniform translucency on incisal edge. uneven and little less amount of translucency gives more natural look.  over all result is good , wait for some time and thn decide.

Your veneers looks great. However, translucency is one thing I have noticed either patient love it or hate it.  If  it really bother you, you should discuss it  with your dentist and let him know. Good luck.

I personally don't like the way your translucency appears as a straight line. Teeth do not do that and it detracts from your otherwise nice veneers. I would let your dentist know.

Aesthetics is subjective, especially when it comes to the nuances and intricacies of porcelain veneers.  Natural teeth often have translucent edges that are asymmetrical and varied; however some patients natural teeth do have a band of translucency at the edge like your veneers.  Talk to your dentist about your concerns after a few weeks if you still have an issue with how they look.
