Can a xenograft be removed and replaced with a different graft material during upcoming surgery?

Generally they need to be removed. They cause chronic inflammation which unacceptably thickens the eye lid. It is my opinion that surgeons who use this material do not really know what they are doing. Depending on the degree of the inflammation, the graft may need to be removed and the eyelid allowed to heal for many month before performing a definitive reconstruction. A detailed in person assessment is helpful.
