Should I get a nipple piercing before or after breast augmentation?

If you wait until you’re full recovered from your piercing, then it would probably be fine to get it done first. However, please note that you may need to either remove the piercings during the breast augmentation and keep them out for a little while afterward, or use plastic spacers to retain the holes.

Thanks for your question! I would not do it prior to breast augmentation. We will have you take them out before moving forward with surgery and keep them out for at least a few days afterwards. Ultimately, it is your choice. Good luck!

Complete healing from nipple piercing can take up to a year. You probably want to have your BAM first; after you have healed from it have your nipple piercing.

Hello, thank you for your question. Ultimately a nipple piercing is up to you. Just as long as it is completely either 6months prior or 6 months after. There is always a risk of infection when doing it so keep that in mind when you have an implant in place.

I advise my patients that they can newly pierce 6 weeks after surgery. My patients can use plastic spacers for their current piercings and have them during surgery. I generally recommend waiting until after breast augmentation surgery before getting nipple piercings. Also, I would suggest that you wait a few months before getting it done so the final swelling and positioning is set before getting pierced.

Please please please wait until after the surgery and you have healed before getting your nipples pierced. With the piercing, you have more bacteria in the nipple area which will increase your risk of infection and capsule formation. It is best to never pierce.

You will want to wait until you have fully healed from your breast augmentation before having your nipples pierced. If you have them pierced prior to your surgery you will be required to remove them for surgery and throughout recovery for infection reasons. It makes the most sense to wait.
