Hello,I had a lipo 1 year ago on my lower belly. This is the result..when I’m standing it’s totally fine but when I sit it’s like this..I talked with my surgeon and we discussed to may correct it with lipodilution injections.. do you think that this could be possible or I need to do revision? And do you think that a revision could work? Thank you very much!!

Answer: Accessing Liposuction results It’s very difficult to assess Liposuction results when the skin is contracted. How the skin drapes it’s a combination of multiple variables including fat distribution. If there’s an issue with fat distribution it should be noticeable with the skin under tension and an upright standing position with a careful examination. It does look like there is a single line with the surgeon may have done liposuction in the same direction a few too many times but if this is truly related to fat distribution it should be noticeable in a standing position as well. If you can’t tell in a standing position that it’s going to be very challenging to correct it with any procedure since it won’t be visible when you’re laying on your back and the surgeon is doing the procedure. If you were a candidate for a full tummy tuck then converting the procedure to that would be the easiest way to illuminate the problem but that may or may not be appropriate at this time. Fat transfer to correct Liposuction results is very difficult. fat grafting survival is based on the presence of host tissue and the area where the fat is needed the most has the least host issue while the surrounding areas have more host tissue favoring fat survival in an undesirable distribution. When the problem area or defect cannot be seen or felt laying on your back and the surgeon has to go buy preoperative markings which adds a layer of uncertainty. You can work with your surgeon which is probably what most providers would recommend and see if a revision helps. Another alternative is to except the results for what they are and leave good enough alone or you can seek second opinions by having proper in person consultations with other providers. When having second opinion consultations patients should always bring a proper before and after pictures and a copy of the operative report all which are available from your current provider. Delivering consistent high-quality Liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe. I continue to encourage people to be very selective in choosing providers for this procedure. Answer: Candidacy for revsional surgery? Hi and welcome to our forum! From your photos, I note irregular surface contour of your abdomen following liposuction. This may be due to technical error or may be the result of loose skin and adhesions to underlying structures. Deoxycholic acid injections will dissolve fat. However, once injected, the extent of its effect cannot be controlled. You may wish to consider a tummy tuck (or mini) to remove lax abdominal skin, lyse adhesions and tighten the abdominal wall.Discuss this option with your plastic surgeon.Best wishes...Best wishes...
