Considering butt implant removal and replacement, 25 years post op - can this be done at the same time?

Hi! 25+ years ago I had a butt implant procedure, I was very skinny (95 pounds) so the surgeon placed small breast implant in my butt (top area/ behind the muscle) to give me some projection since the butt implants didn't fit in, the structure of my body was small. I was happy with it until I gained weight, now that I'm 150 pounds I would like to change my current implants for butt implants. Is that possible? can the removal and replacement be in the same procedure? Thank u.

Thanks for your question. It is possible to replace butt implants as well as to remove the implants and only do fat transfer if desired. That said, it's difficult to provide you with a proper recommendation without pictures. I suggest you schedule a consult for a proper evaluation. It is very important to know surgery with implants needs to wait to be in surgery to follow the steps, I would like to tell you can be done at the same time but it will be depends how are your tissues where the other implant was place before. My recommendation is talk with your surgeon the both cases same time surgery or 2 round of surgery, is very to be prepared for your healing time.

Good question, indeed your current implants can be removed and replaced with a better size and shape buttock implants. Because your current implants are breast implants, they are round and spherical, thus not anatomically shaped. A much more appropriate shaped implant for the buttock is the Stanton Anatomic™️ buttock implant which is a symmetric oval. This shape best conforms to the anatomic natural anatomic shape of the gluteus muscles.  
Please keep in mind that an extremely few number of board-certified plastic surgeons specialize in buttock implants so be sure to consult with one that is reputable and experienced. Unfortunately you may have to travel long and far away from home to find this particular surgeon. Glad to help.

Dear Honest,
   Posting your pictures - back and side views , would have been helpful . The answer to your question is yes. However, your current sub muscular implants will have to be removed and in my practice, your new implants will be placed sub fascial - on top of the muscle. I have done many of these surgeries. You will have to decide if you want round or oval implants and how large do you want your buttocks to be.
    Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures in the photo gallery, to make sure that they are numerous, consistent and attractive with natural look.

Breast implants are not appropriate to be used as gluteal implants.
They are not designed to take the pressure of someone sitting on the implants for 25 years.
Your situation cannot be assessed or properly addressed by posting a question on real self.
Most plastic surgeons in the United States do not offer gluteal implants for a good reason.
The procedure has a high complication rate and a high failure rate.
If you’re going to have this procedure then you need to find someone that specializes exclusively in this procedure and has a proven track record.
Generally success seems to be correlated with generally keeping implants small enough to be able to fit within the gluteus muscle. intramuscular placement seems to be correlated with better long-term success. Using implants that don’t anatomically fit within the gluteus muscle leads to poor outcomes and high complication rates.
Finding the appropriate provider may be a challenge so I suggest having multiple in person consultations and look for those who specialize exclusively in this procedure.
