Upper bleph to give myself a more refreshed and awake look? (photo)

Question

I am 44 years old and am considering an upper bleph to give myself a more refreshed and awake look. I don't have loose skin and some doctors have said the cost will outweigh the return and have suggested Botox and lasers instead. I would welcome your opinions, thank in advance.

Thank you for your inquiry! By your photos, it looks like you would be a great candidate for an upper bleph procedure as that procedure will remove the small amount of excess skin you have to your your upper eyelids therefore making you look more refreshed and rejuvenate your eyes. I recommend scheduling a consult appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon like myself so we can assess your eyes, listen to your goals, and create a surgical plan that is best for you and your goals!

As an Oculofacial plastic surgeon, I perform my own technique where I slightly tighten the muscle that opens the eye during the blepharoplasty. It’s ptosis surgery but a very mild version of it. This would lift your upper eyelids a bit and give you a more refreshed and awake look.

There are different ways to do ptosis surgery and I’m attaching a video here but this is not necessarily the way do it for you.

hard to tell without an in person exam but I think you could probably handle an upper bleph. your results will be subtle but maybe that's what you're looking for. I dos e how things look a little heavy in the first pic.

I think this is a great question and thank you for providing photos. 
Although hard to completely assess on photos, I would agree that it doesn't seem like you have too much of an excess of skin (typically the most common complaint leading to upper blepharoplasty). It is hard to tell if you are needing to lift your brows in the photos, but this can sometimes indicate a need for a brow lift which takes some of the tension off the upper lid, giving a more restored/refreshed look.

An upper blepharoplasty may help but I think a brow lift would help even more.  The incision will be at the hair-forehead junction.  This will bring down the hairline lower and pull up the eyebrows.
