Which eye surgery will fix 4 year old tear through filler? (photo)

I have injected many many patients with hyaluronidase, the enzyme that dissolves the filler, and it is very well tolerated. There are a lot of aesthetic/cosmetic/plastic surgeons and dermatologists that will instill fear in patients regarding hyaluronidase but again I see patients like you and I first dissolve the filler, then determine the next steps. Yes you have to be careful with any medication, but I think they exaggerate the fear factor because it garners a lot of likes and follows on social media. And the problem is that people then start looking for the wrong treatment like excising hyaluronic acid gel filler when you can simply dissolve it.

Hyaluronidase will only dissolve the filler if you had hyaluronic acid gel filler by the way. If you had another type of filler, then we need to have a completely different conversation.

It is in your best interest to try injection of enzyme into the filler related bulge first! Any surgery would create relatively large scar and significant postoperative discomfort. In person consultation with an experienced board certified plastic or oculoplastic surgeon is recommended.

Before any lower eyelid surgery is contemplated, the filler should be dissolved by an expert injecting physician. Once the filler is dissolved, then a decision on how to proceed if necessary can be made. Good luck and be well.

Although It may seem like surgery is the fastest answer depending upon the type of filler used I would certainly recommend dissolving it is a much more reliable way to go and can be done without scars. Of course if you had something other than a hyaluronic acid filler then that would not work. When you go see a board-certified plastic surgeon make sure you have the record of what was used so the proper treatment can be recommended to you.
