I was turned away from My Cosmetic surgeon as I was told I have tuberous breasts. I had never heard this term before & was so disappointed to not be able to have a normal BA as planed. Can you tell me if they look tuberous - and if so what grade? I really appreciate your time! I am wondering weather or not to try & get the medicare rebate to cover the reconstruction needed, or if I will be disappointed again. Thank you!!
Answer: ?tuberous breasts The criteria for having tuberous breasts operated on and covered by medicare or insurance has recently changed in Australia. I would recommend a consultation with an experienced & Specialist Plastic Surgeon who would be able to recommend the best treatment tailored for you. All the best

Answer: Tuberous breasts The answer is your surgeon must apply to Medicare with your photographs and clinical details, and an answer will be received as the whether or not you qualify. My feeling is yes you will, but only Medicare can decide. If you do qualify a rebate will be obtainable for surgery, and much of your hospital costs will be covered if you have the appropriate private health insurance. You used the term "cosmetic surgeon" in your question. Cosmetic surgery is not a specialty in Australia. You must be sure to see a Specialist Plastic Surgeon. Ask the question.I hope this helps
