is it safe to mix juvederm ultra with volift/vollure?

all but the last time i had my lips injected i had juvederm ultra, i tried volift the last time because i read and was told it would last longer...it didn't, so now im going back to ultra because its cheaper, but is it safe to put ultra in my lips now or will it cause either filler to make granulomas/infections etc???

I'm sorry to hear of the issues that you are having since your filler treatment. While the reaction you described is uncommon, it can occur in some patients. When you are ill and start to experience swelling it is best to have it treated by your PCP. If desired the filler can be dissolved.

Thanks for sharing your concern. I would recommend returning to your injector and getting all the filler dissolved using hyaluronidase. This may take a series of treatments. It is hard to tell without an in person evaluation if filler remains, but I would definitely rule out that option and...

Yes, it is safe to use the same syringe on the same patient to inject two different locations. Be sure to discuss your treatment goals with your injector. One half syringe of filler for the lips will be a conservative amount.

Many things can effect the subtle differences over time including age, weight loss or gain, environmental factors, etc. I encourage you to discuss your concerns with your injector so that adjustments can be made to help you achieve the results you are wanting.

When scheduling future filler treatments it is a good idea to begin a prescription beforehand of Valtrex, or similar medication, as a preventative for cold sores. I recommend contacting your injector for an evaluation.
