Question

-The only product I used is Cicaplast by La Roche Posay. It contains a mineral complex of Zn, Cu & Mn, madecassoside &glycerin. Should I be using anything else with it? -I have a darker skin tone &extremely worried about hyperpigmentation. What can I do? -Should I be wearing SPF at home? I'm worried about the sun coming in through my window and my desk light -I haven't noticed any peeling yet. Is it normal? -When can I start using my regular makeup? -Also, would vitamins/silica supplements help?

Your skin looks totally normal for the healing process after a Halo treatment.   The sand-papery dots will resolve usually by day 7 but for some can be faster or slower. Continue using moisturizer and sun screen, and avoid direct sun even with sunblock on.

You look like you are supposed to look.  They will flake off naturally as you wash your face daily. You should be using a physical sunblock that has titanium dioxide or zinc oxide every single day. You won't be peeling the same way you would if you get a chemical peel. Just make sure not to let the skin dry out. It's also safe to use make up now.

Your skin response is exactly as expected for several days out.  It appears the treatment was relatively superficial and not particularly dense, so recovery should be rapid.  Your skin is quite pink and this can be the cause of rebound pigmentation.  I would recommend that you really hit the zinc based sunscreens, avoid all sun, and once you go through the final peel in about a week, get back on a bleaching product as soon as you can.  If you get persistent redness, ask your treating provider for a calming cream that could contain some cortisone and aloe.
