You are asking a very broad question that I could write a chapter on. In fact, I have! The Halo is going to improve the texture and wrinkles of the skin, while the nanopeel really just helps the visible photodamage of the skin, improving some of the browns and a little texture. If you have a lot of browns and reds in the skin, I'd recommend a broad band light (BBL) treatment. If you need improvement in wrinkles, then I'd recommend the Halo. Many combine them to get the best result. If you are considering a Halo, I'm not sure where the nanopeel will help. We don't do many nanopeels since we got our Halo 18 months ago.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Facial Plastic SpecialistQuintessa Aesthetic Centers
Hi and thank you for your question! We find that Halo is great when a patient would like improvements in brown spots, texture, pores, etc. This usually requires two treatments, minimum. When our patients have more crepy/ thinning skin issues and/or more severe sun damage, we find using the nanopeel or contour is beneficial. You will also see some improvements in brown spots with this. Part of this decision is depending on a patients skin type, Halo is safer for darker skin types. We prep many of our patients with bleaching creams before and after either of these. Best, Dr. Grant Stevens
These two treatments are as different as night and day. . A nanopeel is the most superficial 'full field' laser treament where the topmost layer of skin is removed at a very precise depth, thus encourging the treated area to heal in a fashion very similar to a chemical peel, but without any chemicals begin used. The Halo System is a fractionated laser, effectively creating columns of injury deeper into the skin, but done in a way that only a certain percentage of skin is actually treated. This depth and density creates a very different type of injury and a somewhat longer, but predictable recovery. We love both systems and find that both can contribute to healthier, more luminous skin every time you undergo a treatment.
Nanopeel is a very superficial laser treatment. Choosing which laser depends on your wants and needs. Do you want to target the browns and reds or soften wrinkles? Schedule a consultation with a provider to talk about what each laser can do for your skin. Halo has some downtime of 3 up to 10 days depending on the intensity.
