Why am I losing eyelashes only on the upper eyelids, one eye at a time? (Photos)

Three months ago, eyelashes from my right upper eyelid began to fall out (beginning from the middle, outward) over a few weeks. Only a select few seem to grow back. I have no other visible hair loss anywhere on my body and my lower lid lashes do not seem to be affected. I once had a bald patch on my head at the age of 10 and lost a small chunk of lashes 3 years ago (18). Blood test was healthy. The makeup I have, I’ve been using for years. *I do have asthma and sensitive sinuses.

Immediate consultation with an MD experienced in treating alopecia is in order. The sooner your condition is diagnosed, the more likely the treatmentwill be effective. In the meantime apply Rogaine to the affected area as directed by the label.

An astute dermatologist can help you solve this. Trichotillomania and alopecia areata (two most common causes) can generally be differentiated as can other causes.

The loss of eyebrows comes about as a result of variouos dermatologic diseases so see a dermatologist to have an examination and possibly the diagnosis can be made at that time
