Eyelash loss but thyroid is normal

Question

Experiencing extreme lash loss and only my ferritin is coming back low at 16.... Could this be the reason they haven't grown back? I Had my thyroid tested many times and I am in the center of all the reference ranges. I don't know what to do at this point

There are about 30 reasons for eyelash loss. A physician would need your whole story and to see the eyelashes up close. If your eyebrows and scalp hair are unaffected, a ferritin of 16 is probably not relevant. But see your dermatologist or hair loss specialist if you are worried. Most people with eyelash loss have normal blood tests.

Definitely see a dermatologist about this one.  There are too many reasons why you might be losing your eyelashes to trust this question to an internet reply.  Lots of treatments exist - but you need a diagnosis first from a qualified medical professional!

The best treatment for lost eyelashes is the drug Latisse which can grow eyelashes when they fall out
